The opening ceremony includes the official opening of the congress, a plenary lecture, an original concert, and ends with a welcome cocktail reception.
Concert: Ophonius Quintett Jazz & Sciences
17.30 – 18.30
Ophenius was born at the end of the twentieth century from the meeting of saxophonists and acoustic research professors with a passion for music. The combination of professional musicians and acoustic research professors inevitably led the group to combine the arts and sciences, and to propose an original and innovative concept: scientific concerts.
On the occasion of the Inter-Noise 2024 conference, the group is proposing an original creation using elements from several shows.

The Congress evening will feature culinary specialties from French-style chefs, accompanied by live music.

In the tradition of conferences in Acoustics, the INTER-NOISE 2024 conference offers a Jam Session which will take place at the Ferrailleur, a performance hall well known to the “Nantais”, located at the dock of the Loire river, in the “Hangar à Bananes” site.
The capacity of the room being limited (280 pers.), the registration is advised for this event (see the Eventbrite link above). If the room is full, it is nevertheless possible to sit outside on the terrace and to listen to the music (outdoor audio replay).
There are two options for the registration:
- Spectator: If you simply want to attend to the jam, and listen to the music with a drink, you just have to register with a “general admission” ticket,
- Musician: If you want to attend to the jam, and also participate as a musician, you have to get a “general admission” ticket and also a “musician Participant to the jam” ticket. You also have to fill the following form with some information about your instrument, style, …
