53rd International Congress & Exposition on Noise Control Engineering

Students and young professionals

Young and early career acousticians can be either undergraduate or postgraduate students, postdoctoral, or young acousticians or noise control engineers working in industry.

Several events directed towards young and early career acousticians are proposed, including social gathering and a PhD Market.

Young Professional Lunch

(Monday noon, August 26th)

This event, organized early in the congress, is intended to offer the possibility for early career acousticians to interact with confirmed researchers and practitioners.

Overlooking the exhibition, a special lunch place will be reserved for Young Professionals to meet and mingle. A number of seasoned acousticians will also be present and this event will allow you to kickstart your networking for the week.

PhD Market (all week)

The PhD Market aims at opening a communication channel between students close to graduation and companies or institutions looking for new talents.

It is a job dating event with pre-collection of CVs and a tool for putting students and professionals in touch with each other.

Get a chance to meet with potential employers and find your next job. The market will happen throughout the 4 days of the congress, all you need to do is to register by submitting a CV and selecting your main topics of interest.

Exhibitors will have access to this database and will be able to contact you to discuss and schedule in-person meetings. Different meeting locations are available in the venue, from the exhibitor booths to private meeting rooms.

YP Award & Reception

In 2010, I-INCE initiated a grant program for noise control engineering students and young professionals who were within the first ten years of their careers. The goals of the grant is to expose students and young acousticians to senior professionals, give them experience in public presentation and paper writing, and assist them in the development of networking abilities. This grant enabled these young professionals and students to attend the INTERNOISE Congress and network with senior engineers.
